Ode to new technology, Monkey-Style!

Yesterday was my 27th birthday, which means I am entering my 3rd official year as a Momma. As you can see, Daddy is pretty happy about that, but Monk may be a little incredulous. Personally I think it will be the very best year yet!

So does my crazy cutie Mini-Pants!!

I took these at my birthday breakfast, after being allowed to sleep in- and only woken up when I got my presents from my beaming children. They wrote cards for me, and Monk jumped on my head and threw hers at my face. That is LOVE!!

My darling dearest sweet Hubby-o-Mine bought me a laptop for my present, which is why the title to this post is pertinent! Not only is it amazing and top of the line, it has a SD card reader, so I was able to upload my pictures directly into the computer with no muss or fuss. How cool is that??

After that, he bought himself a new motorcycle- which is what the girls were longingly staring at out the window! Don't they cut the cutest figures ever?

Depending on the day, they are best friends or worst enemies. When Jess came to visit for our birthday this year, she sure found out! I think the sheer volume those two create together was her most daunting experience.

She had to come before our birthday, because her boyfriend Bill surprised her with a trip to Miami as her present. Where he subsequently proposed!!!! My money is on them eloping to Vegas, so don't start looking for your wedding invite in the mail!

We've had a lot of really big news in the family this month, the biggest being that the newlyweds, Chelsea and Chris are going to be having at least one of these:

So Congratualtions to those two lovebirds, and their bun in the oven!!! They'll be due somewhere around 7 months from now, so March? Be sure to send your love and support!!

Lastly is the dreaded potty training. (Dun Dun DUUUUUUUUHNNNN)

Many of you may know that Monk uses the big-girl potty intermittently, so a bit ago we decided to pursue some full-time potty-age. I had heard from a good friend that when they are ready, you can put big girl panties on a toddler, and after the first accident they figure it out on their own.

We went through 4 pairs of big girl undies in 15 minutes!

News Flash!!

As of today, we have a walkin' Mini!!

Oh my, what a long time it't been!

As glorious as it is, this is the only picture I've to show for myself in the past month! There has been an hive of activity for the Evans' a-happenin!

Honestly, I'd say the deficit in pictures is equal to the surplus of maniacal behavior of those two crazy Monkeys of mine. Violet is every day getting closer to walking, and more frustrated as time passes. Monk on the other had has figured out how to pick Mini up (a biiig No-No) and really likes to hug and kiss her.

Also, we've been swimming a lot, and have recently aquired a new Dee-Luxe Baby Boat for Mini, complete with back rest. Monk is reliant on floaties, but makes a fine time of putting around the pool with them on.

Aside from that, and Jay's 27th birthday, we've been self-sustained. Got to (finally) inaugurate Chelsea and Chris's wedding with a lovely feast, high five Emma a bit, and hide from the 95 degree + days.

It's all about the Minis, baby!

Our little Mini has just been coming straight out of her shell lately- enough to warrant a MonkeyBlog all of her own! Yesterday morning, she pushed herself to standing (freestanding) for the first time. Given it only lasted for about .0001/s but hey- we takes what we gets!

It turns out our little Grumpy Pants actually isn't all that grumpy at all. She is just a harrassed individual! When Lilly is still asleep, Mini is a perfect, if not impish, Angel.

And here is the reason Mini warranted a whole Mini Blog of her own. Could she be any more beautiful!!??

A tiny little side note- these are the mousey chocolate covered cherries for Chelsea's wedding, which is Sunday!!!

So you say, who's that Mini with her vampire teeth? Don't worry, its still the Mini we all know and love. She is just a big girl now!

And speaking of big girls, Monk's obsession with my shoes continues. This picture is extra special, because she is almost out of her feetie pajamas. That will be a really sad day for us all, I know.

I mean, heck, she is driving already! I think she was looking for a parking space in this one... You know those Home Depot parking lots- they are crazy!

It was easter bunny time again, just recently. This year Monk was more festive! Grandad provided the ears, Yay!! I tell ya, Monk even helped color and dye the eggs! It was fantastic. Mini had already gone down for the night, and Emma and Lilly still breezed through two dozen of those suckers.

These were our Easter morning shenannigans. Lilly smashed every single egg!! I love hard boileds, so I got a little sad. I was the only one though!

Jay was coming off a two week guest spot at 13 Roses in Atlanta on Easter weekend and it was Howard's bridal shower, so we celebrated at Grandma Kearney's house. I made sure to call Mr. Easter Bunny and ask if he could come there. While in town we also got to see Jay's dad, Pawpaw.

I guess Mini doesn't like him so much...(Just kidding!)

With the weather as nice as it has been, we have been spending a lot of time in the park. Heck, Mini has even mastered climbing up the playground steps and belly sliding down the slide! I'm not sure that you can upload videos on here anymore, otherwise I'd post one. It was HILARIOUS!

Oh that Mini, always such a joker... Now if we could get her walkin'!

Well, we love you guys! Hopefully we will see all of you between the two weddings, Chelsea and Chris's and Howard and Bucket's!

Stand by me, when you're a Mini!

So we have big news, here on the Monkey front! I thought I may build some suspense by working my way to it through this blog. I also decided the best pick for an opening picture would be of a sad Monk.
Don't worry, I took the picture with the purpose of bribing her back into a good mood by looking at her own picture!



That same day I took the girls out for breakfast, and this is my big girl Mini, getting ready to put some cream into her coffee.



That evening we saw one of the most stunning sights in the world, a full double rainbow. I know it doesn't have much to do with the beebies- but it sure is gorgeous!

I swear I try to get these girls to eat right, to start them on a healthy lifestyle... I have also read that chocolate is good for you. So there!




Yep, the obligatory Monk glamor shot. At least she doesn't know she is a green-eyed knock out yet. Well, that's not entirely true...

Hey, Mini is certainly well on her way to supermodel status too. What am I going to do when my daughters are rich and famous models and taking care of me? I'll tell ya, I'm going to love every minute of it.

Practicing for all her impending overseas modeling trips, Monk has "mastered" the chopsticks. (Yeah right!)

Mini, on the other hand, is trying to put her thumb on the pulse of high fashion hair. You can see the pigtails worked nicely. I sent a picture of this to Sarah though, and she said, "Why is Jay wearing pigtails?"

At last, the HUGE news!

Mini pulled herself to standing for the first time EVER today!!!
